Welcome to February's issue of Defining where we had various shoots, held networking events and Skilled up!
Curwen Print Study Centre - Shoot #3
Matt and Jordan were back at the Curwen Print Study Centre to capture more of the magic that takes place there. Working alongside Curwen has been an absolute pleasure. Learning about their workshops, rich history, and archives has been an enlightening experience and we’re really excited to share it with you soon.
The team had such a good time visiting the centre, with Matt starting a linocutting course with them next month!
Cambridge Innovation Park x Define Creative: Headshots and Networking event
You may have seen that we hosted our first ever “Headshots and Networking” Event alongside the team at Cambridge Innovation Park. We set up a pop-up photo studio and invited our neighbours to join us for coffee and get their headshot taken. It was a lot of fun and a brilliant excuse to get people together and meet some new faces - hopefully this will be the first of many.
Merch & More 2025 - Vibrant colour
Matt attended the Merch & More 2025 event which took place in Cambourne at the Belfy Hotel. Here, he got to meet some of the wonderful people behind some amazing branded merchandise, ranging from tote bags to personalised chocolate. It was a great way to meet suppliers in the area and learn about the newer sustainable practices behind creating branded products. Safe to say, we were very jealous of the great swag he picked up while there.
Powered Up Business Networking Event
Another great networking event in Cambridge that Matt went to this week was the Powered Up Business event. Matt enjoyed making connections with people in the area who worked in a range of industries, from corporate finance to independent small businesses and learning more about the services each provided. It’s always a good chance to mingle with our neighbours.
If you’re interested in the next event, you can find more information here.
Goodbye, Dan!
This month, we bid a fond farewell to Dan who will be moving on from Define Creative. He has worked with Matt and Jordan for a few years now and his exceptional camera skills (and knowledge of planes) will be greatly missed. I’m sure we will work together again soon and we are wishing him all the best with his next endeavours.
We’re super excited to share the work we did for the wonderful Evelyn Glennie Foundation. It was truly an honour to work alongside esteemed percussionist, Dame Evelyn Glennie, and to take part in one of her workshops. We explored different sounds and rhythms through the vibrations of various instruments, ranging from kalimbas to thunder sheets.
Another great project with Granite5 that we’ve had the pleasure of working on - you can check out the new website here (you might even spot some familiar faces!).
The next episode of Memory Lanes is out!
“In this episode, Tim Lowe, Founder of The Lowe Group, discusses how he’s reshaping property guardianship to make it more affordable while unlocking unique London locations. His approach is rooted in unconventional housing experiences, from living in a horsebox and canal boats to above car garages, as well as his time in Cambodia. Tim explores the power of community and why comfort stifles ambition. With a belief that the past can’t be recreated, he reveals how his travels have shaped his approach to property and business. Tune in for an inspiring conversation on taking risks and creating value in property.”
