Jasmine Paramasivan – Studio Manager, De·fine Creative
Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter, Defining: September. Here, you will find the highlights of September, including welcoming some new faces to the team, the journey of one of our exciting project’s last month and what we have coming up. We hope you enjoy reading and keep an eye out for our future newsletters!
Dan’s love for photography started when he picked up a camera at 10 years old and has since developed his skills to become both an incredible photographer and videographer. Dan loves travelling and aeroplanes and is an avid tracker of Flight Radar!
Jasmine has previous experience in marketing and advertising, having worked in both New Business and Client Services. In her spare time, she loves going to live music gigs and watching films, particularly anything Wes Anderson. “Get your hands off my lobby boy!”
Matt made it to De·fine Creative's first appearance at the legendary Future Spaces event organised and hosted by Laryd Design an interior design company based at the Cambridge Innovation Park in Waterbeach.
The event featured a wealth of specialist speakers talking everything on the spaces us as humans occupy, and how different sensory experiences affect people differently. It was a fascinating day which many of the attendees felt as an eye-opening experience into other ways of thinking, especially around how we co-exist and thrive within indoor environments.
Our Design Director, Matt, led an exciting visual identity project to represent the Charles Mews property development, building a strong tone, look and feel for the identity, as well as creating marketing material such as brochure design, hoarding design and map design.
The team then went on a creative journey to find the perfect answer to the client’s brief - to create a premium eco-friendly but classy visual identity - was an interesting and insightful one. Deep-diving into what this could look like, the brief was broken down and each element was looked at. From this, separate moodboards were created based on these factors: “Premium Eco & Classy Sustainability” and “Regal & Royal with a Modern Twist”.
Trying to find the balance between the two was a challenge but ultimately started with a range of ideas that were then narrowed down to hit the key parts of the brief. Here, you can see the journey through the different moodboards and sketches from initial ideas to the final delivery which left the client happy that we had hit all the points they had been looking for.
Jordan and Dan had a lot of fun in London with the team at The Oracle Group recording these sessions and learning about what has made these houses homes for leaders in the property industry. Check out the episode by clicking here.
We were invited by MGN Events to capture this stunning corporate conference event which was followed by a fantastic dining experience under the Concord – this will be a shoot we won't forget for a while!
“In the real-life marketing world, the word “storytelling” is used to describe how brands can authentically connect with their audiences, and Emily in Paris is a perfect example of how taking it one step further to tell a fictional story can connect with people in a deeper way…”
If you’ll be at either of these, don’t be afraid to come and say hello!
